Does anyone have an idea how I could mount a pair of side mounted bucket seats in to my g26 and retain the seat rails ?

I have looked at a few other cars some have quite well enginered solutions but otheres have used blocks of wood and a long piece of threaded bar

Looks like it's blocks of wood and some threaded bar then. Wouldn't want to spoil it with a well engineered solution getmecoat

Sorry, couldn't resist wink

If your car was built to standard, then the seat rails in it are those that came straight out of the donor Cortina.

Most aftermarket seats have four threaded mounting lugs in the base - if these don't line up with the holes in the standard Cortina spacings, make some straight metal bars that do, with holes drilled in those to line up with the Ford mounts.
