What a great weekend, ultimately not an ideal result for the team, but they left with their heads held high. Strakka finished in 21st, LNT dropped out at about 3:11am.. With Nigel Moore at the wheel, a fuel hose worked itself loose and a fire ensued.. Luckily his quick thinking saved the car from too much damage. With LNT indicating that they will be back in 2010 stronger!! I'm not sure why the Quifel car dropped out.. It seemed to go back in the garage for long periods of time only to complete a handful of laps and then spend further time in the garage..

Early on in the race all 3 cars looked superb and very quick. They did themselves proud.

There's some great photos on DSC, from Wed (which was extremely wet) and Thurs (which wasn't).

The weather was almost perfect, after Wednesday.

The Quifel car crashed due to brake failure. Apparently they only had front brakes for most of the race and when they decided to give up too the car hit the wall and despite limping back to the pits (on 3 wheels I believe) it was beyond repair.

It was a shame, they were a really nice bunch of guys.

Kept my eye out for any road cars around and about but didn't see any. Could have done with a track-prep'd G27 with a nice big for sale sign. smile

Doh, don't think I saw it.

Did you notice a group of individuals in a blue vintage Bentley being pelted with water baloons on Friday night by any chance? That was me. biggrin

I was in Le Chatre sur Loir on Friday night. Always a good atmosphere at the Hotel Du France, and the place oozes Le Mans history

We may well have passed you. We ended up unintentionally going past several of the campsites before heading into the town centre. We toured all over the place. Ended up driving into a dense crowd of drunken (but good natured) Brits at one point. Then on through the town for a bit before heading for a quick drink at Bar Le Vaudeville.

One of the best places we went for atmosphere was the Hotel Arbor - backing on to the track near Mulsanne - for dinner on Wednesday. We could see (and hear) the cars go past during free practise while eating. Also ended up at Peugeot's after race party on Sunday night which was a pretty spectacular do.

Excuse the verbal diahorea! It was my first Le Mans and I'm still buzzing with the experience. That or the red bull.
