Here are some details of up and coming events to see and take your Ginetta's to.

Main events where the GOC plan to attend.
May
The National Kit Car Motor Show weekend at Stoneleigh Park Sunday 3rd & Monday 4th of May 2009.

Now the 50th celebrations are over this season starts with our main show and club get together. The show is on the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday and to see all the Exhibits and meet club members it’s worth staying overnight so you can display your cars both days.
We hope to have the Club BBQ going so who says there is no such thing as a free lunch!
If you are planning on bringing a Ginetta on a trailer the organisers are asking that you deliver the trailer on the Saturday afternoon before the show starts on Sunday as per the traders. If you can’t do this please let me know, as you may not be allowed access without a special arrangement. Otherwise you can contact Grosvenor Exhibitions Ltd direct on Tel: 01775 722900/712100 or http://www.grosvenorexhibitions.co.uk/KitCar/KitCa... for details.
As always Ginetta drivers should get in free with their car at the main Exhibitors entrance but be early or you’ll have to queue!! Passengers will have to pay the normal entrance fee, which is £2 cheaper if tickets are booked in advance. Don’t worry if your car is in bits come along anyway and bring some pictures to show us. Its one of the best opportunities for you to see how other Ginetta’s have been finished so bring your camera for some shots.

Family Evening and Annual Club Social bash at Stoneleigh.

In addition to the details in the last Newsmag I have now planned a social do for members and families on the Sunday evening at The Oak at Bagington Village very close to the showground. The Oak has some rooms available and can offer Bed and Breakfast for £40 per room. Its a 3 Star rated Inn which can offer us a good choice of food ranging from £6 -£10 (for mains) so I have booked us an area for those who want to join us. To book bedrooms, The Oak web site is http://theoak.greatpubs.net/index.htm or Tel: 024 76 518855. Please note that I don’t need you menu choices for Sunday as any meals can be booked on the night but please arrive by 7pm to allow time to get all the food orders in for a 7.30 ish start. I do however need to know numbers from those of you that want to join us to enable enough table space to be reserved please. So please email or telephone me to let me know ASAP please. PM messages are fine.
If you don’t fancy the meal and /or want to sort out your own accommodation arrangements then you are still welcome to come along and join us for a drink in the evening at the Oak.
If you are not camping at the showground and need help finding somewhere to stay feel free to contact me for a list of places or check out this web site. http://www.stoneleighpark.com/directions/where/ind...

Club Concours and Regalia at Stoneleigh.
All Ginetta’s parked on our Club stand will be automatically entered into this years Club Concours competition where I will award a number of trophies for several categories. The Pots will be awarded late on Sunday afternoon so don’t drive off without checking to see if you have won something.
Ginetta regalia will also be for sale over the weekend and it may be worth contacting our regalia lady in advance if you want a specific item taking to the show.

I'm hoping to be there in my G27 if it's up and running in time. Unfortunately there’s still some work do on it so it won’t be winning any competitions. The main thing is it’s back on the road.

Hi Harvey

Its good toi see the GOC events lining up. I let my membership lapse after being made redundant last year. What is the view on non members attending at Stoneleigh? I might even rejoin whilst I am there.

I will be at Le Mans with the G33 egging the Ginettas on, it would be great to meet up with some other Ginetta types if I can fit it in. It would also be good if we could sort some good Ginetta car graphics for Le Mans, maybe with some help from LNT. (I was thinking large Vinyl for bonnet or something similar).

No problem Nick come along and join us. Dunc may ask you for some subs!
There are one or two other Ginetta's going to Le Mans and with regard to the Badge idea try emailing Jay at Ginetta as they may be planning a 1st Ginetta at Le Mans logo?
The chap organising the Silverstone Classic GOC stand is going to LM too with his G15.

I tried emailing the factory, they said sort it out yourself! I was hoping the GOC may have more influence. I am happy to pay for stickers, but some design/brand coordination with the factory would be good. This is an opportunity to wave the Ginetta flag and increase awareness of its cars and achievements in its long history

Ok may be worth you bringing your idea's sketches etc to Stoneleigh and its probably more of a task for the Regalia people. They can see if anything can be made up. Maybe a design could be drawn up on a PC USB stick and printed at the show as I'm sure some sticker makers will be exibiting. I have an Owners club Logo.

I am not artistic but will see what I can do. Do you have someting with the Ginetta Font electronically? An electronic copy of the logo would be handy too.

I may have just had a glimmer of hope of making it after a cancelation on the rolling road. The yellow weapon has a slim chance of being there.... assuming nothing else goes bang and i can find somewhere to get an MOT on a saturday morning of the bank holiday weekend and then get to the post office before 12 noon to tax it...
Won't hold out much hope then.

With regard to the le mans thing i would have thought there was a large merchandising opportunity for the factory there.
Why they don't sell ginetta clothing etc via their website i don't know, it's a massive missed opportunity.

Here are the Club Concours Categories for this year.
I have had some special trophies made which will look great in your display cabinets!

There is no excuse now not to bring along your 4 seaters as I have added a category to include the GRS and G26 - G31 series of cars.

Don’t think a stand is booked but I know a few members go from the region including our chairman. Why not try contacting the region co-ordinator and sort a plot out or just enter your car as sus it out for next year? Its usually just a case of contacting other members & booking a spot with the organisers.
It also clashes with Le Mans this year where one or two Ginetta's will be racing.

Yes as far as I know. You can contact Tom Harrison via the club for more details of where they will be.
This weekend we will have a good display of Ginetta's at the Pageant of Power in Cheshire. http://www.cpop.co.uk/
