What's Martin Phaff up to...
Discussion
I had an email from Ginetta making it clear that any racing series organised by Mr Phaff was not a Ginetta approved series and that it watered sown the existing series etc. They thanks Mr P for his time at Ginetta but went to great lengths to distance themselves from his current activities.

I understand LNT has nipped it in the bud 'before' it can get any movement.
I just hope there is no nasty business and that Phaff, LNT and Dare just get on with their own business with no muddying the waters. Leave that to Lola and Aston Martin.
No muddying the waters...You are having a laugh aren't you? With the many occasions and the recent one in Autosport this week of LNT/Ginetta heritage offering Ginetta G4 and Ginetta G12 ,[ they don't own these products] ; let alone produce them and put a Ginetta badge on it and with what chassis plate and number?I just hope there is no nasty business and that Phaff, LNT and Dare just get on with their own business with no muddying the waters. I suppose if you keep slogging away with this pretense that you are offering a genuine product rather than a Ginetta Heritage interpretation with a Ginetta badge fitted to give it credibility, isn't this fraudulent? Another company owns the rights to these two model and paid good money to Ginetta Cars Limited for those rights.
How many times does this have to be pointed out to the public, LNT have no rights over the Ginetta G4 and Ginetta G12, nor does Ginetta Heritage, what they produce should not have a Ginetta badge or Ginetta chassis plate and are not Ginetta's.

I don't think LNT have ever claimed rights over the G4 or G12.
I just read the Autosport article again and confess I missed that bit.
Could be a bit of journalistic license though - although I personally don't agree with this notion of 'continuation' models UNLESS they are very clearly identified as to what they are, and nothing else!
Then I don't have a problem with it.
People, however, do get suckered in buying something that is 'not real'. It happens at top ends of the scale too, not just smaller marques like Ginetta. I have just been in on the inside of some so-called 'Lightweight' E-types - discovered not by the so-called 'experts' but by a person who has the real 'knowledge'!

Martin has organised a series aimed at g20's
ginetta run two g20 championships already:
The main one on f3/gt: the best £ for £ one make series in terms of cost / profile in the uk imho. I came 2nd in this in 2007 and spent <12k for the season. that was a shoestring as entry + control fuel + tyres (4 every other meeting) worked out at nearly 1k per event (10 rounds).
club ginetta: run on road tyres. no factory spares support, cars dont need to be latest spec. club level entry fees etc.
Martins series runs broadly (or is intended) to the same rules as club ginetta with two exceptions: 1: he is running it - a plus from my POV
2: cars use track tyres (this was requested by people interested in the series)
From what I understand the club ginetta doesn't have too greater calendar, martins series I beleive offers a bit more variety circuit wise. Martin has done a deal with dunlop to help entrants with tyres and hopes to bring in a celebrity car at some point.
Ginetta are a bit miffed with martin for doing this and I can see their point. however Barc had a load of tracktime spare and Martin feels he can fill it.
We have to remember that there are a lot of g20 race cars out there not doing a lot. I do not think martin poses any threat to the main championship as the above mentioned profile / cost relationship is so good.
I do wonder why more hasn't been done to merge martins series with club ginetta though. Grids were poor at best for that last year and the general consenus from g20 owners (from the email to and fro that I saw)who don't want to spend the money on the main championship is that they still want a high grip tyre.
