Snapper7 (Jonesy) is still looking (like me) for a Dare G4 -
where the heck have they all gone?
Come on, stop mothballing them, you know you need the moneybiggrin.

Got my eyes on one but still too dear for me
(keep dropping the price please, there's a recession on so it's a buyer's (minebiggrin.) market!

You guys really get me - one minute you are shouting about Dare not charging enough for their products, and how much better value they are than a Lotus but when you want to buy one you expect us lucky owners to give things away!

I have been to look at one that wasn't that old, but sadly the chassis was rusted and it would have involved a compleate strip down to sort it out .

I think you'll find most Ginetta owners are pure enthusiasts, with that alot of us will keep our cars as majority are second/fun cars. Buyers market my arse unless you want a poxy Vauxhall or any other mass produced crud.

I think I do know what a Ginetta enthusiast is...

Thought you'd realised the 'smileys' meant it was tongue in cheek - when did 'any' Ginetta owner ever sell cos of 'a buyer's market'?

If that was the case my G11 would have winged it's way to the US ages ago - you should have seen the look on the guy's face when he'd come all this way and still get his offer(s) refused.

The point was more that there are always Ginettas for sale (albeit in small numbers) but the G4 alone seems to have become an exception. It is now very unusual to see one for sale.

Agree. Old hat.
The blue one was on here for an age but I was put off, all about the history of company and nothing about the car and WHY white out number plate only to view it in other pic?!

Spotted the one on GOC earlier but it tells you nothing again and you said it, in JAPAN!

And the PStephens ones sold ages ago. They (he) have nothing except the bronze Club one which does the rounds and nobody wants.

the bronze car is a really nice spec car.. i do wonder why it hasnt sold, i suppose the colour may put people off, the roof could be easily done.
but probably the best one for sale at the mo is Tims car on the Dare site

The bronze car is sold and it is only an advert to attract new orders

Is it actually sold though? I have seen it on 2 other sites who had nothing to do with Paul Stephens apparently.

It was sold over two years ago. The chap who had it did put it up for sale after the first session of having it, but kept it in the end.

About a year ago when I placed a load of adverts looking for a long cockpit G4 and offered it for sale to me for a high'ish price. But with the added cost of converting it to a coupe it would have taken it back up to the cost of a brand new car. So it wasn't really an option for me.

Paul Stephens should seem to have a problem shifting G4 given the amount of time they sit around which might be why he never has any in stock anymore. But would be willing to take a commission on the built of a new car. The cheapest way into a new G4 would be a Clubsport version, That is why he advertises that version of the car to attract business

Spotted James!

One problem.
That's Tate's car that I ummed over last year (I'd prefer a double hump bonnet - I know, it's a bit picky of me).

Originally was up for sale at similar price but didn't sell so price dropped. It had 7,500 ish miles then and not sure what it sold for but it was last on here for £10,500.

I'm not paying another 3 grand no matter how much I like it!

It would cost a fair bit to convert it to a coupe

Coupe is preferable but I'm not ruling out an open car any more. Problem with this one is the hood (when I saw it) is not a good fit and ruins look of car (probably why seller has decided not show any pics of it in place!). I'd have a new hood made up and not in black!

More worrying is the little (or no) chrome left on wishbones on a car that has done less than 9,000 miles. Probably bad chroming as seller mentions screen frames as well.

Other downside is I'd prefer Weber carb version than injection, but that's minor.

If you look at engine compartment

then compare to Geeman's, no comparision.

How much did you pay for your 4 Geeman?

that shot was taken after id bought it and tidied the engine bay, but the chassis and wishbones were in very good condition.

Here it is last time it was on Pistonheads just over a year ago at £10,500. Forgot that the bonnet on this has lift up headlamps a'la G15.
