converted from Pinto to Zetec? interested in Pinto-Engine.
Discussion
hi.
is this twincam based on a pinto block, as i do not want to fabricate new engine mounts...and is the exhaust on the same side (right side)?
its a non-turbo engine, as i want to run it with carbs?
if you have a link to a picture it might help.

Yup it's basically a Cossie just not turboed or blueprinted. Should go in no problem. I was considering swapping out my regular 2.0 Pinto for it in my Ginetta G27 but am busy on another couple of projects it was a runner till we stripped the car down for a Seven project. Also have a gearbox if you are interested
so its the "Ford I4 DOHC"-engine?
yes? than, this eninge has nothing to do with a pinto, besides that both blocks are made of iron-cast.
its this one i guess: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_block
burtonpwer says: Basically the engine is meant as a cruiser, especially in 8-valve format although it can be tuned to give reasonable power.
Not a particularly popular choice then, there is little available in the way of performance parts apart from complete induction swaps on RS2000 engines to the likes of throttle bodies and twin DCOEs. Good gains can be made but the engine is harder to tune especially when more straightforward engines are available.
