sorry, can't help you, but I've also considered this engine option...
have you checked if the inlet manifold would fit without touching the bonnet?

hi
we are both talking about the sierra dohc fuel injected version arnt we ?
I think the head will fit under the bonnet but the inlet as you point out will probly touch it
I was going to get it lowered so that I can fit it or I would have a bulge put in the bonnet but apart form than I supose I could run twin webers or a custom fuel injection kit

I am currently lapping the valves in on my pinto so hope to have the car running soon
is your car running and in regular use ? and do you know of any wirthwhile mods ?

thanks dan

Hi Dan,

I've just started rebuilding front and rear suspension (PU bushes, shocks and springs) and doing some work on the tatty interior (carpet, seats ...).
Bought it 3 months ago, drove for about 700 mls, most things are working :-) but it needs a lot of attention...
It still has its original 1600 OHC so engine wise things can only get better :-)
Hope to have it on the road within the next two months.

Hi Dan,

yes it looks silver on the picture but in fact it's Jaguar light blue.
I bought it in Redditch, so it might be the same car
(I didn't had much choice cause it had to be my ride home... :-) ).

If you don't know how to add some pictures have a look at the "Formatting Help" smile
