Will the Ginetta G50 ever be made as a road car? Has it been made as a road car?

Sure would make a pretty platform similar to a Ultima GTR.

If paddock rumours are to be believed, the tie-up with Zytek will be leading to something VERY special (and groundbreaking) on the road going G50 front...

Is a recession with high albeit falling fuel prices, a good time to produce a new sports road car thats going to cost up to £50k. Much as I would love to see Ginetta produce the G50 as a road car, (I can't afford one now but I would have bought one before being made redundant), i wouldn't like to see them go under as a result of producing it. I suspect many people are looking after the pennies. My prudent commercial side, says Ginetta would be misguided to do it now.

well if ginetta still want to pursue FIA racing then they will have to produce the road car, although from interviews ive read on DSC, the road car will be a car you drive to the circuit but will be very much a race car for the road. the zytek v8 engined one will be very very special though! 500hp flat plane v8 circa 800kg

They seem to make them for the road, though i guess with a V6, sadly no prices for that car or specs yet like weight and power stuff like that...anyone know what such G50 would cost as a road car...also what a V8 version would cost?

here the link

they also sell EV cars in a G50 body...

here it is biggrin

Dear Rene,

Many thanks for your email.

The G50R v6 is currently a prototype hence the reason why there are limited specifications on the car.

Please see the information on a G50 race car for more accurate spec ie width, power etc of what the G50R will be.

We are aiming for the car to cost between £50,000 - £60,000 and hope to see customer version into the middle of next year.

The car is NOT available in LHD at the moment and we have no plans to in the short trem.

With regard to a v8 we do have a Zytek V8 in development in a G50 race car, but currently this is not currently part of the road car project.

If you sign up to our new newsletter services at www.ginettacars.com we can keep you updated on the progress of all our Ginetta projects.

Kind Regards

Charlie Kemp

Rear wheel drive, loads of power – this car isn’t just going for class wins; it’s out to win overall. And glory will be yours at just a fraction of the cost of your rivals!
