C&SC November - front page for Ginetta's 50th
Discussion
5 Ginetta’s including my old G21 and current G33 are in the article Dave which were photographed at Curborough Sprint track last June. Just one article about the 50 years of Ginetta cars rather than the owners experiences as we weren't pictured with our cars. Shame we couldn’t find more cars of differing G models but we had the track on a Friday so it was difficult for many to take a day off work. We all had a great day blasting around the track for free however but setting up the pictures took hours.
By the Way the Blue No15 G4 on your web page is not a later Dare model but the Genuine 1960's car that Graham Hill Drove now owned by Ginetta. Grandson Josh Hill, Damon's teenage son is now racing a Ginetta G20 and Damon and Josh were with us all yesterday at Mallory Park for the 50th Ginetta Festival were all types of Ginetta’s were racing.
All in all a great day thanks to LNT and Ginetta.

re the pic on my profile.
The pics of new Daew G4s I have myself aren't so good, but I quite like that G4 pic, so yeah - I should qualified that a bit better. That pic was from Goodwood Revival last year - LNT's G4. Very nice thoughout and not that different from a standard width SWB Dare one - also seemed to have been bought up to date a little more than some I have seen with respect to the bodywork and some suspension work. I hope to see it back (and maybe a few more) at the Revival this year.
Shame the article will be a bit thin - my wife is a big fan of lean sports cars but hadn't come across the Dare side of the marque until she met me (she was looking at racing G20/27s at one point), we were debating over getting a Dare G4 or a Westfield XI. We plumbed for the XI so we could build it from the ground up to bolster our working knowledge of the car, with cheaper parts (I say whilst expecting the engine work will cost around 6k, so maybe not once we're all done).
Glad Mallory was good, shame I couldn't make it as my parents live just around the corner.

I don't know about not on Front cover, not even a mention on front cover!
Agree article is samey, but good exposure nonetheless. AND Trevor Pyman is featured in a club profile.
Just got latest Newsmag, more pics than words but very nice issue. Well done.
Everything seems on the up. Just a pity, what with the current economic climate that there isn't a 'new' fuel efficient Ginetta sports car in the pipeline for the 'masses' (relatively speaking) like the G15 was in it's time.
Nothing wrong with the TVR-like brute G50 but, like I say, pity there isn't something for the other end of the market (ie not 40+grand). Probably do a storm now.
Still think Dare should push the G4 more - it has everything including the looks - in my book it is the iconic model of the marque.

Dares new big G12/G16 transverse engine project can have a variety of engines from small cc 4 pot' too big 3000 cc V6 ' prices will start from well under £20000 up to £35000 for all singing dancing V6 3lt .
in right / left hand drive
Ooo, will keep an eye out for that!in right / left hand drive
Agree it would be good for a small CC/economical, lightweight, cheap sports car from Ginetta, but unless they have already got one in the pipeline or can somehow turn it around quick, I'm not sure we'll see one soon.
I'm starting to think a cheap Elan-alike would be good for the market.
We're just getting a Westfield XI - sort of fits the bill, but pretty impracticle, so something with a roof and a bit taller, for less money would be a hit, just no margins to run a business on.
The G4 is great but limited in terms of engines (ie mostly zetec) and also problems with SVA and the build is fairly complicated.
The G12/16 makes more sense due to its transverse configuration- lots of options and will be far more practical, more interior room etc.
I think promoting the series 1 G4 (round tube) and the G12 would be good for those interested in 'real' continuation cars made by the original designers.
