A few pics of my G33 from this years Le Mans trip. Not actually in Le Mans but outside the very famous Hotel du France in La Chatres, just south of Le Mans.

Thanks for the pics smile

Sorry to hear of your wows with the scum.

We, like a lot of people it seems, have shifted to Classic to (hopefully) avoid this sort of thing, but with ticket sales already up 30% I expect it will be starting there too. The Ginetta's would fit in better there too - especially in th Gulf livery (withstanding this year's Aston entry) smile

There are 2 for sale at the moment, go buy one! The chap that bought your car did some work on it then sold it, I am not sure where it has gone, seems to have disappeared.

when I saw my car on the PH classifieds I am not ashamed to say I felt like crying.. frown

best car I ever owned even though it boiled my piss (and it's coolant) frequently.

J775 KGD where are you? smile

if I had somewhere to store it i'd buy another, but I really want to buy my car back biggrin that would be an emotional purchase and i'd sell the Elise and run it as an everyday car just like I used to.. the journey to work was fun - down the A52 braap, pause, braaap, pause, braaaap, pause, braaaaap, pause, braaaaaap, 150MPH! hehecloud9

most beautiful car shape I ever did see.. and best noise any car had ever produced by most accounts!

How does it compare to the Elise then ?? It would be an interesting comparison, I was torn between buying a VX220 and a G33. Very nearly bought a VX220 when I sold my TVR but two 2 seater cars was a bit OTT !!

well... the Ginetta is better built than the S1 Elise, much, much faster above 80-90 although nothing in it below that.

the G33 handles to my mind more predictably, in that the line between f**king it up and controlling it is a lot fatter than in the Elise where it is much more a case of riding a knife edge on the limit and suddenly it lets go. I think this is due to the mid versus front engined setup smile there no doubt though, that the Elise handles technically better, and would be quicker round a twisty track - the G33 is more of a tuck the nose in and plant it whilst adding loads of lock sort of experience, which makes it my favourite amongst the two.

the roof is bloody fiddly on both cars, minutely less so on the G33, but the Elise has windy windows rather than slot in ones, and leaks less, so wins on this point too.

interiors of both cars are basic in the extreme but there's a good stereo and heater in the Elise (just by dint of it being more modern, I would imagine) so it wins here too.

boot space in the G33 kicks the Elise in to touch, I managed to pack enough to live for 9 months in Portugal when I had mine biggrin the elise takes its own roof and an overnight bag smile

put it this way, guys. I love my Elise, I hold it in extremely high regard and I respect the heritage and design that has gone in to it..but when I think of my beautiful coke-bottle V8 monster thrown together in a shed in Sheffield I go misty eyed. every time - even now. that car holds a piece of my heart and I want it back smile

Yep. Amen to the above.
Just sold my s2 111s to get back into a G20.

Lotus faster in a straight line and better geared, i utterly loved it... but there is something about ginetta, for some strange reason i was drawn back.
