I believe a record number of Ginettas (mostly G4s) entered in a race at this meeting..

Colourful and patriotic (to us!)
That yellow G4 is so low.
As for the double hump roof of the G12 - oh dear!

Mark Walklett drove the white G12 in the ginetta race - a dnf from mechanical failure but a new lap record

Mark got fastest lap at 1:57.857 compared to the G4 of 1:58.868 and was told it was a new course record for that class of car. In practice it became apparent that the set up on the G12 wasn't correct with too much front braking as well as the wheel tracking being way out - added to this the seat wasn't holding mark tight and he was sliding about inside the car! Before the race Ivor and Tom Walklett sorted the brakes and handling out best they could and did a great job in the limited time available. Resourcefull as ever a piece of 2 by 4 wood was employed on the seat wedging mark in tight! Mark led the race initially and then the very quick and sorted G4 got by - Mark was quicker than the G4 but of course didn't know the circuit at all so figured the smartest thing to do would be to follow the G4 round and pounce on the last lap. Unfortunatly the head gasket blew half way through the race throwing water over the rear wheels ( I'll try and post some pics) and he spun off. Bad luck.

Incidently if you want to have a good laugh check out Cottage Classics forum on the Button Willow Reunion - Scroll down to the last photo of the very lovely yellow G4 - it looks like someone has been scrubbed out of the photo look carefully and you can just see the hand on the G4's screen- any clues as to who the missing person is????

Me either - but it's quite obvious when you look properly smile

Maybe it was jsut somebody that hadn't said they could print their image?
Or an international man of mystery... one of the two wink

Amazing photos though. Looks like it was a good meet.

Hmmm, I had not noticed either. But blatantly obvious by poor attempt to disguise with dark area in front of green G4

Hmmm, strange. Can't enlarge the full group pic to see if anyone has been 'airbrushed' out on that.

Thinks hard.
Who would be standing next to Ivor...

Got it!

He He.
Think about it. From right to left (99.9999% sure):
Spadge, Tom Walklett, Tony Ingrams (his G4), Ivor Walklett... and
