hi,

i´ve purchased a 1983 G4, S4 with spitfire-like front supsension. the actually fitted shocks arent height adjustable. can i use some from a spitfire or do these have other damper-rates?

another thing: the car hasnt any door mirrors. which are the original ones for such a car?

thanx in advance for your help.

You can fit AVO adjustable shocks for a G27 on to your G4 S4. Have a look at http://www.avouk.com and search for GINETTA. The set you need are PB301 and PG388. You also need 2.25" springs front and rear. For the front I'm using 350lb 9" springs and the rear 190lb 12" spings.

There is a set of G27 shocks up on eBay at
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GINETTA-G20-27-AVO-SHOCKS-SP...

The door mirrors can be whatever you fancy. I don't think the G4 S4 had a specific type of door mirror.

hi and thanx for the info, but do you also know if the front shocks of a spitfire are similar?

The G4 S4 and G27 used the same set-up (steering rack, shocks, wishbones) as the spitfire except that the front shocks for a spitfire aren't adjustable whereas the AVO shocks are. If you look at the AVO shocks on eBay they should be the same as the ones on your car.

Have a look at the link below to see if it matches your car.

sure, the original-spitfire ones arent adjustable, but most owners fit adjsutable ones.

if the measurements are the same it might be easier for me to order spitfire shocks instead ginetta ones on the local-market here.

162,-pound, incl. vat/pair (spax, ride and height adjustable) at rimmer brothers. so i guess they will be a bit cheaper in the €-land....lol...
