Just been speaking to Mark Walklett getting the latest info.

The new car is progressing slowly due to the amount of time spent on making existing cars to sell.

These include a few G12s, including one with a 300bhp Duratec, plus there was the time spent developing the LHD G4 and the 'long wheelbase' G4.

Apparently the new car isn't that far off being ready, though things were held up a lot by ditching the original transverse turbo Duratec V6 in favour of inline LS V8 and transaxle.

With 400bhp it should be one hell of a car when it's finished.

Also you talked about some G12's...are they making a few or are they selling a few? don't understand...

Also a LHD LWB G4 sounds awesome too(a closed version that is )
thanks

Hi Rene,

As far as I know they only make them to order so all the ones they've been making are already sold. Some going to Japan but the 300bhp Duratec car is staying in the UK.

That 300 HP duratec must be a monster when its ready I hope they test it, I wonder what it can do, how fast on a track and how fast to 100mph, also some data about weight to power a video with sound would be nice too some good info Graham, its bin a while since we heard some info from DARE but the info is goodyes
thx

the new car you refer to is the modern looking boxter-type car. But unfortunately they have also yet to finish designing the G12/16 car, which they plan to use transverse duratec in...

GB, Rene said very succinctly.

Please make sure you get to drive the updated G12 and give us lots of photos. I like EVO, but don't let them beat you to the punch!

I think I have my wife convinced that I need a G12 for mental stability...

My G4 should be back on the road soon...

I saw the Gardner Douglas G70 replica in Practical Performance Car this month, and it struck me immediately how alike it was to the 'screened' G16 - what price a continuation series of the G16, I wonder? The BIG advantage to the G16 would be that people taller than Ivor could get in it... (no offence Ivor - I love my G4'LA' (LA is the suffix Spadge added to the long cockpit car - it stands for Lard *rse!)

Very nice, and should allow plenty of scope for ridiculous power outputs.

The 300bhp G12 is mine - Dare reckon the car should be ready next month - Scholar engine is done. I am planning to fit some camera's (with sound!) so i'll prob post some stuff on youtube once we're racing. Should be interesting!

Mario, what series will you be racing in? I have seen a couple of G12's racing in either the SR & GT or Classic Sports car Clubs "Swinging Sixties" series. A Duratec engined car may not be eligible for the latter but it should be eligible for the SR & GT & with 300bhp would probably be very competitive.

Think you're getting a bit too optimistic now John - things at Dare don't move that quickly! See if I can get another update, but from the way it sounded and has been going so far I think it's going to be a few more months yet.

400 HP in a light weight sportscar with awesome history, looks and engineering is worth waiting a few more months...
Still, a few piccies would be great!

GB, if you were in the USA, I'd buy you a Pabst Blue Ribbon (better than a pint!)
