My contacts at LNT-Ginetta have told me that Martin Phaff is in hospital following a heart attack over the New Year period. He is apparently doing OK, but is expected to have a by-pass operation this week.

I'm sure all Ginetta owners and championship competitors will join me in wishing Martin all the best for a full recovery. He is Mr.Ginetta, and I'm sure he will have managed to sell a G20 to a nurse by the end of the week.

Having been through a similar episode in 2006, would someone who can please pass on my sincere regards to Martin. If he is in hospital and doing well, then he is past the worst of it and already on the mend. The medics decided angioplasty was the solution for me rather than by-pass, but all Martin needs to do is to listen to the medics, take their advice and he will be fine.

Not good news. 2nd all previous comments - get well soon Martin.

O' and James B - please don't plant the thought in Martins brain about selling a '20 to a nurse, don't know whether it would do many Ginetta owners blood pressure much good, no doors and all that......

[quote=ccharlie6]is that andrew russell as in the ginetta G15 hillclimber?

I afraid not charlie, god forbid what would happen if anyone would be daft enough to let me drive one on a hill climb. My children let me drive their ginetta round brands, i managed one lap before nearly totaling a tcar on the hairpin and spining on the pit entrance corner, i think ill leave it to the kids!!!!

Has any one had an up date on martin??? We were looking forward to seeing him at the dinner dance, but i think dancing may wery well be out of the question at the moment!!! If anyone should see him please wish him a speedy recovery.

Im glad to say it was only a mild attack, and he hopes to be present at the Autosport show and dinner dance.

Get well Phaffy

Apparently his operation which was scheduled for today has been delayed for a couple of weeks and they have let him go home. Knowing Martin's priorities, he probably asked for it to be done after the Autosport Show!

Hi folks,

Thanks for your kind messages for Martin. I'll make sure he receives them. I don't know if he'll make it to the show / dinner or not at the moment. I'm sure he won't mind me letting you know nearer the time.

Meanwhile, I'll look forward to meeting people there myself.

Cheers,
Jay

Who are you calling rotund?! My heart attack was brought on by acute anaemia, bu I have to admit to having lost three stone since it happened! Almost down to single-seater weight again...
