Tyres, brake pads and suspension setup help
Discussion
So au entered my first sprint at the weekend and I really struggled with the car.
VERY different to drive than my previous westfields and caterhams so a steep learning curve.
I’m thinking the rock solid setup didn’t help so I need to consider softening the rear slightly I think (which will require raiding the ride height which is REALLY low at the moment to be fair)
Next thing was the tyres. Michelin pilot sport 3 seem fine on the road but looking to replace with something stickier. What are others using? Medium compound of some sort as I prefer just to use one all round tyre.
My next thing and probably my biggest issue at the weekend is the brakes. I had no confidence in them. Very wooden feel to them. In fairness when I really pushed them, they did work but certainly not confidence inspiring! I’m looking to replace with something with a little more bite. Has anyone changed the standard pads (which Im assuming come on better when really up to temperature on the circuit)?
Cheers,
Dave
