Ginetta Prints
Discussion
I found a tube in my loft over the weekend with two signed and numbered Ginetta prints in dated from 1981, they were a 1981 Christmas present from my sister, they have been in the tube they were delivered in for 37 years, got them framed at the weekend, does anyone else remember them?

I've got both of them too. Been searching for them this morning... they're here somewhere - probably in tubes also or between sheets of card. I have so much that need framing or sorting. Found a ruddy great superb print of a Spitfire (plane, not car) rolled up in a tube which also needs framing. It's too warm today for more searching, but I'll find them!
Geoff is correct of course, they are Steve Newport prints.
It was Steve's suggestion all those years back that gave me the idea for the front of the Ginetta Illustrated History, using the badge logo to give it the impact it needed.
Away from cars, one of my most prized 'real' pics (ie an original oil and huge) is of a B-17F Flying Fortress in action over Germany, 'Lady Luck' which is the one that the pilot ditched in the lake at Alresford, Hants on Sunday 26 Sept 1943 before the pilot Robert Whitney Cogswell baled out and saved the town from a disaster. He was then medically grounded due to back injuries sustained during the bale out.
It's not a well-known story outside of Alresford. If you are ever in the town, go to the Globe Pub. It's like a shrine to the pilot and crew. Although just looking online it seems some of the stuff has disappeared and been taken down - sad.
In that piece it shows the Revell model of the plane, yep I have that too.
If you don't know the story, here's a little info.

Need a lot of cash to get me to part with that painting.
It's never ending...
Next on the collection list is a book (naturally I have lots of book too!)
Its Registrar (GOC) Trevor Pyman's new book being published by Crowood Press.
Sneak preview on their website (and cheaper than retail which Trev didn't realise).
http://www.crowood.com/details.asp?isbn=9781785004...
Better still is on Amazon, pre-publication deal, nearly 25% off PLUS free p/p. Get in now before deal ends.

Just my gut instinct but I reckon Crowood are underestimating the potential of Trev's new book. Let's hope so.

Save me sizing up, what are your frames - and are they glass fronted? Sizes (approx)?Like the black, really suits them. Are they wood or not?
Being even nosier, where did you get them from? We have a local market trader picture framer who is really good ...but not cheap! Not that I mind paying, just don't like paying over the odds as I'm a tight (old) sod.

Yes they are wood frames but not glass but thick perspex, I got them from 'The Range' £7 each Ashwood Black Frame 20" x 16", I had to trim a tiny bit from the top of the print. They are packed with thick card, so I left that in to give a tight fit and sealed the backing board with masking tape.Like the black, really suits them. Are they wood or not?
