Does anybody have any experience of alternative tyre options for the G40? I still have the original 205/40/17 Michelin pilot sports fitted which need replaced.
I see the race cars are using Avon zzr 215/40/17 control tyres in the dry this year and only the pilot sports for the wet. Is this the widest tyres that will fit? The rims are 7.5 inch wide so I’m surprised no ones using 225 tyres which would seem a better fit?

Hi!
I've fitted 215/40/14 Kumho V70A on standard rims (17x7,5) and they were scrubbing on the fiberglass at any small bump.
Have now lifted the car 2cm both front and back, it's better but still rubbing at the point that the rear right tire scrapped consistent amount of the wheel arch.
I would never try 225, there is not enough room for that size.
Actually considering to go back to 205 as happens often on track too, especially when driving over the curbs.
