G20 1.4 Zetec Air Filter

Hi folks,

Bought a Ginetta G20 earlier this year with a 1.4 Zetec SE on ITB's. Wondering about air filters - currently open to air but after damaging a previous engine with debris getting in and bending a valve and making a hell of a mess I'm a bit dubious about leaving it so.

Are my worries unfounded? Has anyone put a filter on this engine in a Ginetta? (I have a backing plate and dome ITG filter ready to go on but they don't fit with the bonnet and I'm reluctant to start chopping)

I can't answer your question, but have you tried contacting Ginetta? They should be able to point you in the right direction.

In general, Ginetta won't be too helpful unless you have a G45 or newer. They are very polite, but they have told me they disposed of all G20 bits and they have no historical information for sourcing.
