G20 engine build and dyno run.
Discussion
Picking up from my comments on Grantura2a's thread below. here is dyno run on my engine build. For the UK set: when 20 or so G20's were imported in early 2000's they used Miata (MX-5) drivetrain. My car was ordered with wheel, brake and suspension upgrades by the original purchaser. APTuning and Oracle Tuning built and tuned the engine. parasitic loss for Miata drivetrain generally estimated at 20 to 25 HP. So conservative flywheel HP estimated at 250 with a resasonable torque curve. About 1400 lbs with extra hardware? To cold to test drive.
Here is a shot of my blower install. This is on the US model with Mazda power. I don't like turbos, and didn't want to build a new engine. The base kit was for a 95 Mazda Miata by Fast Forward Superchargers. The manufacturer was very accommodating to the needs of the Ginetta. He custom milled the intake manifold to get me the extra clearance to the bonnet (1/2 inch). He also made a special cooling injector mount, again to clear the bonnet. I had to slide the engine back 3/4 of an inch for the belt and tensioner.
I found standing on my head in the footwell a bit uncomfortable, so I cut a glove box opening, and mounted the electrics in a more accessible location.
I haven't made a trip to the dyno yet since the install. Original dyno run was 107WHP at 5500rpm. With 10lbs of boost, I am expecting180-190 WHP
