Red G21, reg GJR ***K.

Heading west on A40 (Witney-Burford) around lunch time.

Don't think I know this one? Not checked yet though. Pretty sure there's a red 21 in Cheltenham.

I thought the earliest reg on a G21 was an 'L'

I realised that imediately I started searching for whose car it is/was this eve.

I have no record of it (or my records are worse than they used to be!)
The prefix letters would be rather good on any Ginetta for me G(inetta)'JR' cool

Or... perhaps (no perhaps about it!) my eyesight is worse than it used to be and it wasn't K?

One for Mr Pyman I think.

There's a GJR789N, phone number is Witney area, 01993. Er, that's quite close to you, isn't it, John? laugh

Should have gone to Specsavers... what's worse is I do! hehe

Still, if it had been stolen at least I'd have got the marque right!
It is red isn't it, or are you going to tell me it's apple green! biggrin

Who previously owned it Geoff?
First time I have seen it around if it's that close (although 3 miles outside of Witney, I'm 01993 too!)

That was from the 2006/7 register when the owner was Peter Champness. He no longer seems to be a member but I suppose the chances are he still owns it. The present registers are useless, no telling if it's moved on...

I think it was Peter who fitted megasquirt fuel injection with throttle bodies to the hunter engine and did an article for the newsmag

I saw a red G21 in Burford about 4 or 5 years ago. Must be the same car

After a painstaking rebuild of nearly 18 months by the team at Dare, my G21 should be back on the road early next month - just need to source a period sunroof, which might be slightly easier than finding the sunshine to go with it!

Looking good. Are the dash panels new mouldings or the original ABS ones with a coating?

The rebuild is being undertaken at Dare. They decided to use as many of the original panels as possible. So, the answer to your question is yes. I hope to have the car on the road very shortly, even though Ivor, Mark and Tom are incredibly busy with a number of other (easier) projects.
