Hi,

I went to the Crystal Palace classic car show yesterday and spied a rather nice Dare G4.

Seems to tick all the boxes for me. On that basis does anyone know of one for sale?

This car is long gone but this is what I'm looking for..

Pic of the car that piqued my interest yesterday..

DARE will indeed build a new machine.

However my budget is a bit strained so a used example will suffice.

The link is for a race car. Apologies. I should have said I want a road car. I know they're raw and there's not that much in it but I think a standard 2ltr Zetec will be plenty fast for me. Speed is not my main concern. I'm seeking a late G4 for the styling, 60's flavour and anachronistic nature of the thing.

I suppose I'll simply have to wait. All good things and all that...

yep, usual places/websites......could be a good idea to join GOC, and put the word out.....also it might be worth keeping in touch with DARE, as they occasionally have used cars available, or hear of them.....patience will be rewarded!!

I was parked next to the G4R at Crystal Palace...it was very nice but I'll stick with my Phoenix.

Whilst a watched kettle never boils I'm of the opinion there's a few out there.

The bummer is I really like silver! Something will turn up..

I have a cheeky plate on retention which will be affixed when I get the G4.

BTW the car at the palace looked to be a normal G4 with an interior. What's a G4R?

There's one on Paul Stephens site: it's an open top and it's not silver, but a very nice BRG.

It is nice but not a coupe and not a wide 7" rear end.

What really kills it impo is the Q plate. Thus I could never put my plate on and it screams kit car bitsa or such like.

Just to let you know , I am the owner of the car that you saw at Crystal Palace.
As you say, the car is raw but with some sorting you can make them relatively comfortable.
A 3hr.journey for me from Exeter to Crystal Palace was about enough without a break.
Mine is an 1800 Zetec with approx.175bhp and performance is certainly ample for the road,it is still very tractable and will pull strongly from 1500 revs in 5th gear.
I love the sound of your intended tours but luggage will be your biggest problem!
If you would like to know more about my G4 then email me; ferndaleg@gmail.com

Hi Roger, you and P50 should have a look at my trunk space extension, there's enough room for keeping dry a luggage for two.
You should remember that in 2011 me and my son went from northern Italy to Silverstone and back on the road, covering a total of 2000 miles in 5 (loooooong) days...
Cheers.
