Is it really 7.5 years since I sold this. Considering it only went to live on the other side of the Tees I haven't seen it once in all that time.

Or buy the car back wink. When I owned it I used it as a daily drive with my G27 as the weekender but it really didn't work out. Screen and door seals on the 32 leaked so badly I stayed drier in the 27. Looks cosmetically better than when I had it and he states he's retrimmed the seats and had the alloys refurbished. Suggests nothing changed mechanically though as the exchange turbo was done under my ownership just before I sold it.

So it sold for 3.5k and no it wasn't me that bought it back. Looks like the seller did quite well for himself. Made 1k more than he paid for it with a bit of cosmetic work over 7 years. I was tempted but couldn't justify that sort of money. How much do you think I'd make selling my username on ebay?

That's quite good from a residuals point.

Incidentally, this thread might disappear...

You may have noticed my post 'G4 sold within a blink' thread is no longer up.
I had a mail from PHs to tell me it had been 'removed' and I was told to 'READ' the rules - no adverts in the forum.

The daft thing is it was 'not' an advert, the G4 in question was in no way connected to me, plus the fact the car had sold! I wonder if they bothered to read the thread?

I have replied to PH about it plus I did not like their condescending attitude with a highlighted emphasis on the word 'READ', spelt out in caps as this, as if I was some illiterate fool.

I am awaiting their answer - none yet - because if I did do 'wrong' then be warned, a lot of posts, not just mine, might be disapppearing, inc this one as its thread title very much 'sounds' like an advert, and is indeed a link to one!

Speaking with a couple of other PHs this eve, they say usually threads are removed only after a 'member reports' a thread, saying the PH team does not have the inclination nor time to scan every forum and thread.

So if that's so, I wonder who? More to the point, 'why'?

I agree, a G4 on sale IMHO is definitely to be classified more as an "event" than a advert...

hehe 'event'
very good!

Take a look at today's PH topics, the one about the (subsidiary of) OZ new winter alloy wheel.
Played right into my hands... I posted 'blatant advertising!'

Just looked and several PHs already backing me.

hehe

Yes, I bought this G32 Turbo !

Strange, no one else made a bid. Car is as described. A little effort would make it MINT. The only let down is the quality of the re-spray; not that its a dog or anything, but its just not good enough for me. The interior has been trimmed and its top quality and the only let down is the tatty Fiesta dash; getting it flocked to match the existing interior. Turbo has been changed to a hybrid T/Technics unit and it does pull like a train and even on some 'wing wang' tyres, she handles like she's on rails as a good well setup Ginetta does.

Drove 280 miles from Hartlepool, via Driffield and then Goole then on to London on 3/4 of a tank fuel and she did not miss a beat. Fords Xr3i engine and post fitted turbo setup from the RS Turbo S1 make this a very drivable and very fast car. Its not an RS Turbo engine as I thought. Not for the faint hearted.

I now have the only road going G32 Turbo, the monstrous G33 V8 and the only Right Hand Drive G34 Turbo powered by Volvo's masterpiece B200 Turbo.

Sounds like you hit gold there. Rare car, but obviously much better than expected and your journey proves it.
Well done!
