G15 FIA HTP- Race History

Long shot? One of the UK mags( Triple C, Motor?) apparently ran an article on Alison Davis and her G15 (either Modsports or Prodsports) back in the late 70s or early 80s. I'm looking at the possibility of obtaining an HTP for a G15. After initial discussions with the Tech scrutineer at the RAC it's clear that if any progress is to be made then I'm going to have to prove the competition history, ie the spec the cars ran in. Detailed photos are thin on the ground, apart from the Drastic Plastic race car thread, but John Woods has told me he recalls such an article... Anyone remember/have a copy? As I say- long shot!

I'm collecting some race programmes of that period, and searching for G15s in the entrants list...
I also have all the Motorsports issues in digital format from 1960 to 1979, if you need to search into...
I'll be glad to share them with you for the cause :-)

Alison Davis ran her car in both prodsports and modsports. She was Britain's first ever Lady National Champion in her G15 winning outright the 1979 DB Motors/Cars & Car Conversions Prodsports Championship.
David Beams in 1977 was outright winner of the Certina Swiss Watches Production Sports Car Championship.
There were lots of articles features on G15s then in a variety of car mags.

WHY do they always seem to make it hard for G15s to enter anything. Reminds me of the old days when the G15 was arbitrarily banned ('cos it was too good!).

Yes it would be a pity if we can't get FIA papers to allow G15s to race in historic events- when Midgets, MGBs spitfires and the rest (that couldn't touch a good G15 back in the day) can race. I have the CCC from 1978 with the article on David Beams Prodsports car, but it's not the Twin 40s full race spec I need to establish. Do you have any archive material/photos/letters anything that would satisfy the RAC initially (then FIA)? Close up photos of race G15s seem scarce, I've found nothing helpful so far. Any idea of the date of the Alison Davis article or the mag it was in?

I don't know if this is the article you are looking for, but Mark Cole did a track test of Alison's modsports Femfresh G15 for Hot Car in March 1972 and it was published in the July 1972 edition. This test was carried out at the beginning of Alison's second season with the Femfresh car when it had a front spoiler added and the sponsor's new livery. I've got a scan of the article if you would like it.

I'm in the market for a G15, preferably a mark 3, that hasn't been cut about too much if anybody knows of one for sale. Cash waiting.

You will need to be a bit more specific as MK3 means different things to different folks - Most can't tell one from just another.

'IF' Chrisd45 is the Chris I think it is, he'll probably know a thing or two about the G15, especially this one!
