The Silverstone 24 hour race takes place over the w/e of 1 & 2 Oct & there are a number of Ginettas taking part. Mostly G50s in Class 3 but Piranha Motorsport have entered a G40 in Class 4. I'm not sure whether the factory have entered a G40 again but they did last year.

Piranaha grew out of the very succesful TJH Motorsport team who were succesful 3 years running in getting a Honda Civic to a top 8 position OVERALL. The team have previously run a Lotus 2-11 in British GT & now run 2 x G40s in the Ginetta Challenge.

The latest entry list is here:

I'll be doing my Pit stop strategist role on the pit wall for Piranha & it will be interesting to see how we get on.

There are two factory cars.
A G40 and a G55. The G40 is the same car that won it's class last year, the G55 is the orange car that will run at Donington in the British GT endurance race and then straight on to Silverstone for the 24 hour.... Should be fun, hopefully it will rain again!
Both cars are being run by our friends at Rollcentre

Great, I'm hoping to pop along on the Saturday! Good luck if I don't get a chance to wish you that in person.

Oh well, it wasn't "game on" after all. A fire after about 3 hours cost the Piranha Motorsport G40 3 hours in the pits and over 60 laps so it was survival after that. The car had ongoing electrical issues (maybe as a result of the fire) but the team did a fantastic job of getting the car back on track after the fire & to keep it going to the end. Here's to next year.
