Autocar, where's the G40R VIDEO ?
Discussion
Current issue of AUTOCAR (out yesterday Wed) says there is a VIDEO of G40R test on their website Autocar-online
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-videos/
Not so far.
In fact, today, they have put up a new video of the hybrid Fisker-Karma.
Which is an entirely 'new' car from an entirely 'new' car company, says Andrew Frankel in the video.
NO IT'S NOT Mr Frankel!
I've been following this 'car' - For your information it was launched in Detroit nearly THREE years ago.
Fisker then approached Finland's Valmet Automotive who were signed up to build it and it was 'supposed' to be in the showrooms a year later (oh dear, how many times do we here these stories - it's another of these once a year show cars, there are loads of them).
Publicity earlier this year said it aimed to sell over 7,000 cars this year
and even more optimistically, 15,000 in 2012!
It will probably sell far fewer than the G40R.
So come on AUTOCAR, put the video up WE want to see.
All I can say is the lunch provided to Mr Frankel must have been excellent!

not what you looked for but a little teaser, sadly no engine music but other music.

Oh, John, you're such a cynic!
Keeps 'em on their toes.
In fact I was going to go online and tell them the car is not new as such, and has been coming (delayed, delayed ditto) for nearly 3 years.
Sadly I couldn't as my password has lapsed.
I tried to rejoin but their registration process is 'down'.
How conveniently cynical of them.

Already seen that Rene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipa9m-ycyN0
I'd only give that a 2/10, far too short especially the on road bit, hence why I'd like to see a longer 'proper' vid.
It's on the Ginetta website too but you'll need a magnifying glass to see it.
That music is I suppose appropriate, bet they won't expect an 'old cynic' to know that!
it's 'Underdog' by Kasabian.
Interesting lyrics
Kill me if you 'DARE'
Hold my head up everywhere
Keep myself right on this train
I'm the Underdog
Live my life on a lullaby
Keep myself riding on this train
its not a bad video, I guess it would be wrong for them to use motorcycles 'as the rush comes' as a backing track at some point...

Well, beginning of a new week and despite its claim on the Autocar inside page of this/last week's video being the G40R, still nothing.
Except the video of the Fisker... and now a new video of the Maserati Grancabrio.
Naturally, I tried to sign in again to vent my justified criticism, but hey ho one is still met with this:
'The registration page is currently down for essential maintenance and will be back up in due course.'
...due course? It's now 6 days! Are we waiting for Wednesday and the new issue or is that too cynical of me!
Come on. Put the G40R video up. If not, why?

Spoke to Autocar this morning and I am promised the video will be up by Friday this week. In the meantime see below BBC Look North interview with LNT from the launch at Elvington Airfield.

Await with anticipation. Average Autocar vids are just over 3 mins, some up to 6 mins long.http://vimeopro.com/user5914491/g40r/video/2777132...
Hope they don't post one of their 90 secs ones.
I have two G4's, a 1965 Round tube and 1966 square tube, I've been watching the G40R video tonight and now know I have to have this car. I live in USA, does the company have any plans to sell over here?. My G4's are always surrounded by guys whenever I park and the G40R would be a sensation.
Ginetta has been a true British success story and I realize they are moving forward with a clear and considered strategy which may not currently include the colonies, is there a US future for G40R?

I got an email a few weeks back that indicated a new US distributor for Ginetta, so I would guess the G40R will be available here, even if it is in component form like they did with the G20.
I think it is British Racing Group, LLC if I remember correctly. Their website is here:
