Simple website - help setting one up

Looking for some advice on setting up a very simple website for the business but will manage it from home. It has to be idiot-proof, as I have no expertise in web design or languages whatsoever!
Has anyone got recommendations on a host and CMS? I have seen a few through the usual Google search that offer templates, CMS, hosting with 250mb storage, 10g bandwidth, video upload, widgets etc. for £50 pa plus £11 to buy the domain name for 2 years. This appeals because I get tech support with it, but am I paying too much? Is there a company that does this and stands out above the rest?
Also been advised to use Wordpress, which appeals on the basis it's free: but is it as easy as it sounds to use? The missus is going to be using it at work in the near future to update their site, so I could rope in her help.

I can second the recommendation to use wordpress. I am a total non-tecchy but put this site together for my son's football team a couple of weeks ago using wordpress.

In total it took me two evenings to complete, I admit it is not the most whiz-bang site on the net but it does the job! Also, once up and running is very quick and simple to update the site while it is still running (I believe other web packages require you to take them off-line while you are updating the site content).
I can't comment on the hosting as a tecchy friend sorted that side of things out for me but it cost me £2.00 to register the domain name for 2 years and about £12.00 per year for hosting with a stack of storage for photo's etc.

Instead of your own hosted Wordpress site, you can try http://wordpress.com/ and have your own domain name pointed at it (so clients are none-the-wiser). In fact, you can try it out there before you decide if WP is what you are after.
