So here we go!
Need to get a commuter. Must be pre-2001 (to duck under the point where C02 emission was stated on V5 - relates to clause in my company car policy). Want more than 4 cylinders. No diesels. MPG does not matter (fuel card). Insurance must not be silly. Manual favoured but will consider an auto. Budget £1000 to £1500 max. Looking to buy end of this month.
Current favourite is a Omega 3.0 MV6. I know they go sideways well and purchase price/insurance is reasonable. Doesn't seem to be many manuals about though (2 on the Autotrader)
Nigel! How much can I get one for?
BMW 328i is in with a shout too but a bit pricier to insure.

Mk3 Golf Vr6 ?
Was quite keen on one of them until Mr Verysideways warned me off with tales of head gasket woes. He said he'd never touch a K-series Elise either though!

Mr-2 ? (not great for commuter but hay 2 mid engined cars is a good going eh ?)
No it isn't. The new car needs to be a sensible counterpoint to the Elise - essentially it has a boot.wackojacko said:

Nice find
All depends what is on the V5. If it states the CO2 emissions I'll lose circa £100/month.
I'll ask the seller. Cheers

Thanks guys but they just really aren't me. I'll probably end up ramming some MLM off the M25 in one of those!

I think not! The ex-police Omega on ebay does not have CO2 on V5 according to seller. I'm viewing on Monday evening.
