Is anyone going to the Thames Valley Police open day tomorrow at Sulhamstead (near Reading)?

http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/newsevents-news-...

I'll be there all afternoon (with the SEBEV team: http://www.sebev.co.uk/ )

If you're there, then do come over and say hello thumbup

I'm looking to join the Police after I graduate, and am interested in anything that will give me more of an insight into the Police in general.

However just looking at the website I'm just wondering wether this is more of a leisurely day out family type thing??

Any idea wether the day would prove beneficial to a prospective Policeman??

Cheers, Doodles.

Doodles, it is, as you say really a family-orientated day out. But what I would say is that if you're free for a few hours, then by all means pop along. There'll be plenty of peeps to chat to.

Ironically I did my specials training there eek

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up for me smile.

Yeah I may very well pop along for a little bit, see if I can grab one of the officers for a quick chat that sort of thing smile.

Im applying for specials at the moment biggrin, how was the training, hard much?

Well, ironically (no really), if you come to the SEBEV display and ask for me, and I'll introduce you to another SEBEV member who is very high up in the Specials in TVP. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to talk to you about it. And probably introduce you to some other peeps of usefulness.

The training was great fun .... but very intense. Very intense smile

But the bar was a godsend yes

Yes absolutely yes

No really. Yes. I promise

You won't miss the SEBEV team .... very large red van and we'll all be in burgundy polo shirts - most having very large Search and Rescue on the back of them.

And a cool display smile

But do ask for Kinky. I'm guesstimating I won't be there until about 1:00pm. I would be there earlier but Ascot United are opening their new clubhouse tomorrow morning smile

Wish I'd have spotted this thread earlier as I took the boy over today. 5 hours on our feet and thoroughly enjoyed it. The displays were great and the boy loved the helicopter and dogs.

The highlight for the boy were the 5 week old puppies biggrin
