http://www.foliohotels.com/harteandgarter/ and get a room with a view of the castle and you can't get more in the middle of town. I've stayed there a few times and it's nice if you get the right room.
Thai Sqaure is nice if you like Thai food.

Never stayed there because I only live 5 miles away but Sir Christopher Wren's House Hotel is in the perfect location by the river http://www.sirchristopherwren.co.uk/default.aspx
Or try Heston's pub - The Hinds Head, Bray http://www.thehindsheadhotel.com/#welcome,introduc...
If you don't mind venturing further afield for food I would definitely recommend The Royal Oak, Paley Street.
Alternatively have you had a look at the Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield? Food and atmosphere in the restaurant are amazing. Rooms look very nice online to.
Another recommendation if you are looking for something a bit more traditional is Stoke Poges Golf Club. I have stayed in old mansion before and room is very grand (four poster bed, roll top bath etc).

Crazy Bear...definitely good. Can anyone confirm the rumours I've heard that rooms (and some of the clientele) are , ahem, available by the hour.....?Alternatively have you had a look at the Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield? Royal Oak ...is that Parky's place?
Been there once and thought it was a rip off. Nice, but waaay too expensive. Cost me about £70 for 2 main courses and 2 glasses of wine.
Even by the standards of gastropubs near Windsor, that is steep.
Thought the Green Oak in Oakley Green was better..food maybe not quite as fancy, but much better value.

If you want to be by the River, Oakley Court is the place. No idea what it is like to stay in, but the setting is perfect and The Fat Duck and The Waterside are just up the road (though you should have booked months ago!).
The Waterside has a couple of rooms as well eta: Very nice too!
