Quck/cheap bonnet repsray place near Camberley

SWMBO has a Mk3 MR2 with lovely bright red paintwork. Unfortunately the bonnet has faded badly and needs a respray. It's a very small panel in a non metallic. What sort of cost would this be to do and does anyone have any recommendations? I work near Basingstoke too so somewhere near there could also be an option.

Ouch! £270 for the bonnet! Might be better getting it mopped.

Getting a valeter to mop the bonnet back to life (as its not that bad) and mop/polish the rest for £35 all in.

www.crystal-kleen.com in Aldershot I think. They look ok form their site. Hold on until Thursday when they are doing the work just in case. I'll report back. Although I only needed the bonnet doing they said they'd do the lot and polish it after too.

Ok, the guy, Phil, came today while I was at work and did the mopping and polishing. Car looks even better and the bonnet is restored to its former glory. Its not quite a perfect match to the wings but I am being very picky given it is a ten year old car. TBH its as good as perfect. £40 all in.

Sounds just like oxidisation, as said a detailer would be able to bring it back no problems. I charge a little more than that though for a detail.

I suspect some of the low price was due to the fact he is 10 mins away from me anyway.

Is there anything above the usual polishing that I can do to stop it happening again or is polishing enough?

A good wax will help protect it from re-oxidising too quickly again. Otherwise not a lot really.
