SAS karting in August... any interest

Hi All,

I know it's a long way off, but I'm thinking of trying to organise a karting day in August for the locals.

Would there be any interest for one Saturday in August?

The below are the main choices but the best choice probably depends on numbers that will want to take part!

Thruxton - excellent karts and the best track I think I've been to, quite expensive.
Sandown - where we've been before a few times.
Slough - the decent indoor place that's cheap as chips.
Buckmore Park - probably the fastest karts, would be most expensive option.

Sounds good to me.

I'm no lover of indoor kart tracks to be honest and although I like Sandown, I reckon we should try somewhere new.

So, Thruxton or Buckmore Park for me.

Yep, deffo. I did the big indoor one at Crawley with Lotus Club. Most impressive indoor circuit I've seen, worth considering too.

Thruxton is great too but they have the world's longest driver's briefing!

Okay, I'll talk to a few of the places as I guess we'll get enough interest

I think Buckmore park will be something around ~£80 for the full 1,200m track and we'd need 17+ people to give people an idea.

Ben, I'm in too unless it's the Slough venue. Was there a couple of weeks ago and it was pony. In two out of the four races, the kart only had one of the two engines running and the staff there couldn't give a fk.
Probably why it's cheap

Shame Colin, that's off the list then.

We had a great time there about 6 wks ago, the only thing that was bad was one of the karts had no brakes but they swapped that one out (after I'd still managed to win the heat with it knackered)

It won't be bank holiday weekend, that's for sure, as I said I'll take a look at dates and talk to some of the places then update the thread with our choices
