Warning to those who buy tyres from our favourite place

I've just had a pair of rear tyres supplied and fitted to the Tuscan at that tyre place in Bracknell that we all rave about, but i won't name. I've used them for years. I then set off to the MOT station in Newbury, and the car was all over the place. Boucing around, not feeling very stable at all.
When i got there, i had them check the tyre pressure in the new rears.
37 psi FFS
Needless to say, when i deflated them down to the recommended 27, the car was fine again.
They may be the cheapest around, and i'm not suggestiing you don't use them, just be careful about the pressures before you drive off.

Blimey David you went there on a Saturday too? - what a brave soul you are 
IMHO its gone downhill since they sold out to the big guys.
Last couple of times I have called them and got a quote then got Ropers, Farnborough or Merityre, Bagshot
to match.
Hounslow Tyres are also very good for price and no queuing, not local I know but handy for me when Im
at work at the town's aerodrome.

I used to use 'the' popular tyre fitters in Bracknell until a couple of years ago when my wife had a bit of an issue with them. Ever since I have used Total Tyres in Binfield who are about 5 mins away from the popular place in Bracknell. Total tyres are usually slightly cheaper that the chaps in Bracknell and are run by a couple of young chaps who know their onions. A couple of weeks ago I had to take one of my cars in for a new set of front tyres, upon taking the front wheels off they discovered that one of my front bolts had been cross threaded in the hub. They managed to get the bolt out, re threaded it for me and also re-cut the thread in the hub for no extra charge.
As I said to a few of you, I was totally astonished when I called them a few weeks ago asking about getting 225/14/17 goodyear tyres and they not only didn't have them for the first time in 6 years but also couldn't get them. I was shocked and hate to say it but since they were bought things have gone downhill!
Last weekend I noticed I needed some new tyres, went on BC for a guide price
I then called the listed fitter as I wanted allignment etc and mention got a price but I presume you pay black circles for the sale. They then best the black circles quote!
On visiting them their attn to detail was very good using protected ratchet adapters etc showed me the marks on my wheels before going ahead. Then checked the cars details for pressures etc, a second guy checked the torques on my nuts "ooh err" after re fitting the wheels.
Asked permission to move the car to the allignment bay, and this was done very professionally again explaining everything all the way.
So in summary. Really good service, I know its a bit north for some of you but I will be using them again.

Whilst driving to the nurburgring in 2008 having had new rears fitted the day before at our fave place it was a tad worrying that approx half way there (and at a rather silly Autobahn speed) I was getting very silly vibrations through the wheel, so we pulled over.
I'd lost one wheel nut and the other 4 were loose enough to be taken out by hand. Ben will recount the slight worry. I will never go there again - saving money is one thing, forgetting to check that level of simple task is completely moronic.

I'm very glad I saw this, I had mine done yesterday and it felt very tail happy on the way home, will check pressures and the wheel nuts before work tomorrow. When i got there, i had them check the tyre pressure in the new rears.

My brother is a HiQ'er and he seems to think 32-35 is good for them all..
