Thames Valley Renault Servicing???

My friend needs to get his espace serviced, but has been quoted some outrageous prices by his main dealer, does anyone know of a good independent dealer in the Thames Valley that could do the work?

Here is what he sent me:

"I need to get some major work done on my Espace (March 2000 V6 24valve 3 litre). The Renault dealer's quoted me as follows:

72,000 mile major service £814
Back Brakes (discs & pads) £250
Cam Belt £1211

This comes out to at least £2,275!!!!!!!

My car's now out of warranty and I intend to keep it for a good while yet - so not really fussed about being able to claim 'main dealer service record'.

Do you know anyone who you'd trust to give me a better price on this? I've asked the Renault dealer to have a think about costs and come back to me aswell."

Crazy, did you ask why it was so much for the cambelt? Is it one of these engine out jobs?

I am sure a friend of mine had the cambelt changed on his Ferrari 348tb at a specialist for less than that!
