Wow, is there a better sight than that car, on that road. Only the view from the driver's seat maybe.

I'd give anything to take that down there, so far I've only gone down in my Skoda, and as a passenger in a Mini.

Newbury to Wantage, nice.

Found myself detouring onto this road on my drive home from Thatcham to Newbury recently.

Its nice to get up there in this nice weather and switch all the driver aids off.smile

Nice road , lots of bikes on sunny days and cops are know to hang around occasionally

There are a few places where you can get damp patches where the road is shielded by trees had my Skyline sideways when making "progress"

I've driven this once or twice and never once seen a cop and I've also hardly seen a bike! So interesting to see different view points hehe

I got a bit of a shock early one particular morning flying round a corner, straight pass some policewoman in a fiesta panda car, she looked equally surprised biggrin

Never seen a bike of any sort on there though.

The first time I visited, I became aware of a Volvo S60 catching up behind me, so suspicious it was a plod I backed off and he overtook, now, I didn't get a good look but I could have sworn this guy had a police vest on. He seemed to know the road really well so I stuck on his tail, and wow was he good! I've never had such fun going down there since! I did lose him on the straighter section however, after all I still couldn't be sure if he was police or not.

Never seen plod either. Remember being held up by a couple of bikers once but that is it. Its not like its the A339.

Best thing about is that it is always so quiet.

I saw a community support officer drinking/spilling his coffee on a run once, not sure the Corsa was going to offer much in the way of pursuit.... hehe

It's a beautiful road> I do a round trip from work when the weather is nice. Down there, turn left, through some twisties along the ridgeway, then pop out at Streatley and back to work.
