Its been widely publicised that the Police are having a crack down on Speeding and bad driving in the countryside in and around Tadley Area over the next 10 days.

Cheers Cliff
I hadn't heard that....I've got a mate in the BIB so I will see if I can check that out...

If they can get the Gyppoes untaxed and unroadworthy cars off the road then that might be a good thing, its only 10 days after all.

I can find out very easily. If true, it will not be the troops based at Tadley. It will be traffic officers descending upon the area. To be fair, they will only enforce limits in posted areas, i.e. 30s and 40s. They will use a laser gun, so you can be got up to 1 kilometre away. So, don't GLF until you see the signs!

Funny thing is during these type of thing the people they catch are the same locals who made the complaints to the police in the first place!!

They've had a crackdown in the area for years. They moved some "traffic super-cop" (read Nazi) into the area about 3 years ago now. I've lived in Tadley for a few years now, ann I've seen more speed traps around home than any other area I drive around.

FYI. If travelling between Tadley and Basingstoke on the A340, they have a favourite spot for their vans in the 30 limit at Sherborne St John. 95% of the time it's facing towards Tadley. You can usually tell when they're there, because the locals all flash our lights at oncoming traffic.

Hi James

Interesting array of cars you have there...You must have a pretty large garage...?

Where abouts are you in Tadley..I've lived there for pretty much all my life. I've never seen the Ultima out and about though..
There is a Yellow Cerbera and a Light Blus TVR S driving around at the mo' I've not been in the 'S' when I have seen them...

Are you going over to VW..?

It was on Kestrel all day yesterday,i just forgot to post it .

The trap at SSJ on the tadley road, know it well!,i think some of these Speed cams can zap your back bumper as your heading away aswell,,i know the big tri-pod one can.

Like the E-class 55 AMG,,they've got serious amounts of torque.

For info... the A340 is a designated "casualty reduction site." This is fair enough, there have been quite a few fatals on the road in recent years. The camera van only enforces the posted limits, i.e. NOT the nationals, so there's not much excuse if you get a ticket. They tend to be there during the day, they don't hide themselves away, and the van is fairly lenient. Its usually a ticket at 40mph, in a 30 limit.
Lets face it, if your road awareness and forward vision and planning is so poor that you either don't know what speed you're doing or what the limit is, and you don't spot the van, or wonder why everyone else is obeying the limit - then you deserve a ticket.
