Well after such a lovely w-end I got to thinking that the usual SAS activities are not exactly health conscious!

Consisting generally of:
Sitting down at a PC
Sitting down in a pub
Sitting down in a restaurant / cafe
Sitting down in our cars driving to the pub/restaurant/cafe!

So sedentary at best, combined with booze and generally unhealthy food!! biggrin

So now that spring has sprung, how's about doing some more active stuff?

Golf, mountain biking, dog walking, are just a few that spring to mind! I'm sure there are a million other things that would get us off our arses!

They could all be combined with more traditional SAS activities after, so don't worry too much!!

So am I mad, or does anyone else want to join the revolution?!! biggrin

Sounds good to me, im always up for some pub golf biggrin or did I get the idea wrong?

No really I would happily meet up for a game of golf, or if someone has a spare bike, go for a ride somewhere. Anything really, as I too am not feeling that fit for queen and country. Oh squash is good fun too.

I have a couple of Berkshire "rambler's guides" and have used them on dog walks before. Funnily enough, mainly the ones with a pub en-route biggrin

Right thats it then, dog walkers and mountain bikers of SAS unite to go to the pub for a nice Sunday beer. Very healthy

Golf +1 - There is always Bird Hills/Lavender Park/ Blue Mountain driving ranges with bars attached for an evening fitness session biggrin . Lavender park has 9 holes for a quick evening hit when the evening sun arrives!

top golf in addlestone is the best place for the driving rage just thing fo driving range with a hint of bowling!!. You have a bay per team (up to 6 people) and on the range are targets. you register your balls and depending which bit of the target you get your ball in the more points you get... oh and you can have beer at the same time biggrin

I mountain bike, and usually try to go night riding with mates during a weeknight, Thursdays usually (finishing at the pub - to cancel out all the good we do!). Happy to have new faces join us. During the darker months, it usually is a more social ride, but when it gets warmer after the clocks change, the fair weather bikers in the group turn up and we do more technical / longer rides.
Only requirement is you have some lights with good run times.

Need to get back into shape after a winter when I didn't get out as much as I should, and ate/drank to much.... I usually ride from my doorstep up to as far as North Downs/Chobham/Fleet and further afield, but also throw the bike in the estate and drive somewhere.

Just unplug the power steering pump from your car. That'll give you an ample workout.
