Does anyone know this road? I have to travel it tomorrow (well satnav advises the motorway route but..), has anyone travelled it, know if it's any good/has cameras etc? I only know the Amesbury to Salisbury bit which is actually a nice run, past Sting's house in fact and the airfields (Boscombe Down and that microlight field). Thanks, off to have pancakes smile

A338 is closed just South of the A303 and you will be diverted down the A303 and through Amesbury. Nice roads although plenty of potholes after the recent weather. Watch your speed through the small villages between Malborough and the 303 and give me a "toot" as you come though stty Bellender (Shipton Bellinger). wink

Exactly, Salisbury is way out of the Thames Valley so we're not allowed to give a st.

Reminds me of that scene in Point Break where Reeves is told to ''Go back to the valley'' by territorial surf dudes.

Gentlemen I thank you! Consider the route taken, I'm off to have the suspension meddled with at K-tech post meeting in the Royal Borough of Swindon, well it's kinda on the way back to the office in err, Oxford.

Amazing road, thanks for the route. Reminded me of France, not much traffic, fast, great visibility across the fields/plains, occasional tractor reversing onto the main road to keep you on your toes, those tank tracks would be fun with the right vehicle smile
