Guys,

A few if us have joked about the idea of car football.... sponsored by Hertz or similar over a beer.

I've had a look on the old ebay and was thinking, if we can get access to a piece of land we could do this for less than the cost of a super mini rental for the day?

A quick troll of the bargain motors and "trade-in"s make quite a few options, remember Clarksonius's £1 Volvo?

Do we reckon we could pull this off.....

I've been looking at doing a banger to the 'ring and back for a stag party. I can't find much in the way of something roadworthy for less than £500. Tried the local rags, fleabay and also spoke to a few garages, but everyone tells me that cheap cars are snapped up cos of the credit crunch.

Wouldn't mind doing the football thing, but it's getting the car there and back which would worry me!

How about a convoy to a car auctions to clean out their "low-end" stock?

Starts getting complicated then, but crash helmets should be a must, and maybe a few simple rules about speed and contact?

I'm thinking more about getting the insurance and then pushing it out onto the road afterwards and claiming I was hit by a job rider. Sixteen times! On all sides....

Hummm ..... not sure how long that would last for (being realistic). Feck the footy .... I can see it ending up as just bumper cars or demo darby yes

Helmets required, remember the size of a football pitch isnt that large. so speed shouldnt be an issue. hehe

Also if there was a second and third game you would need to consider car survival.....
