Christ on a bike, the roads are terrible around here! It took me an hour to get to the M25 today (normally 10 minutes) and ended up going via the M3.

Chobham high streets only just been reopened following this mornings closure.

Philpot lanes closed.

Nightmare!

Bagshot Road still closed at Junction with High Street.
Two police cars and two officers.
Don't they have better things to be doing like keeping the pikeys in check.
Highways should provide people for that duty.

Was very dodgy driving home along the backroads last night, was very happy to have 4WD and good tyres when I hit a few big puddles (yes I'm a child and was aiming for most of them) hehe

Don't fecking talk to me about the Highways people...

Hit a pothole the size of a small country on the M40 last night and blew out two tyres... literally £200 a pop!!!

Only when several cars were stranded on the hard shoulder with smashed wheels and shredded tyres did the Wombles bother to turn up; some 2 hours after they got the first call reporting a huge hole in the road!

RAC were fantastic and arrived exactly when they said they would - as were the Police who also turned up in force way before the Wombles arrived. thumbup

When we were in the lorry just leaving, the lane still wasn't closed and the recovery guy said there was a vague message on the overheads prior to Wycombe that said "Caution Obstruction In Road". As opposed to "BIG HOLE IN LANE 1 - MOVE OVER!"

The HA have put a 'Red Claim Form' in the post to get the money back on my tyres and my wheels obviously need a complete refurb now as well... I quite like the dark grey similar to the RS6+ wheels colour? biggrin

What were you doing in lane 1 John?

Yup, floods everywhere round my way too. Showcase cinema car park, park'n'ride, Moat House Hotel, all underwater again (as usual).

Deep standing water in Lane 3 and in no hurry given the torrential rain so just set the cruise for 70'ish and bimbled along in Lane 1... rolleyes

Had I been whizzing along in Lane 2 or 3 as usual then would have missed the hole!

Has anyone used Micheldever mobile service before - are they as good as the centres? Can't be arsed with calling another truck from RAC to take me to a tyre centre...

Ha they did in Clapham a few years ago.
Came round to this side street in the 32tonner.
Officer says road closed owing to "Incident"
Man running around with a knife.
The officer did laugh when I suggested he climb in and we'll go find the fecker
hardly gonna harm us up in the cab.

The Surrey Highway agency and their contractor "Ringway" need a good kick up the backside, the state of the roads in Surrey is a disgrace.
Many of these flooding problems could be sorted if given to local contractors with local knowledge and some balls to get some of the issues resolved.

Sorry to hear of yet more woes John.
Try Event Tyres for mobile fitting. Ignore the web prices - just call the number and push them for the best price.

Event Mobile Tyres: thumbup

Coming out Friday to fit 2 new tyres - which is fine as everyone I've phoned has said Friday was the earliest stock they could get.
AND £20 per tyre cheaper than Bracknell Tyre & Battery, incl mobile fitting!!

Yes I have come across that on the M40 a few times. Inbetween junctions 2 - 5 of the M40 gets big pools of standing water in the centre of the motorway in the dips during very heavy rain. Hit that water at 70+ and it is a crash waiting to happen.

You can drive around it, just not through the middle.
