Role Call - who couldnt make it into work today!!!
Discussion
Well i made it in and had some fun on the way in,
Had a panic moment after i was walking away from my car though and some stupid women nearly slided into the side of my parked car because she panicked and stamped on the brakes sliding down the road!
so come on then who made it and who wimped out/actually couldn't make it?

Well I haven't risked the 40 mile commute down every type of road possible, as I doubt I would have made it before midday anyway (and that's if I made it up the hill just outside my village!). It's still snowing hard here too!
Plus, if it's snowing hard throughout the day I may not make it back home again.

No one has gone into the office, and I am in my nice warm bed..

I would advise to work from home until the main roads clear – if you could VPN in and forward you desk phones to your mobiles to work remotely
Once you decide to come in, please drive carefully
Yeah, right, like anyone is going to change their mind, drive in and risk getting stuck / crash their car....Once you decide to come in, please drive carefully

Decided not to risk driving the 30 miles into work, especially when its forecast to get worse this afternoon. So I log onto work from home about an hour ago and everything was fine, but then things stopped working so I logged out and now I can't log back in again! Rang our helpdesk who say that a server has gone down (yay!) and they're trying to fix it (boo!). I'll just have to trawl the internet for the next hour then...
My boss emailed me last night and said don't bother going in, just WFH.
Having ventured out at 7am to get milk i can safely say that i won't be risking it again until the roads have cleared a bit, people don't know how to drive in these conditions. People sitting on my back bumper, far too close, and people not braking early enough for junctions (especially on slopes!).
I can get by just by planning ahead and going very slowly, but almost everyone else on the road is driving like an idiot.

Pretty much the only reason why snow bothers me.I can get by just by planning ahead and going very slowly, but almost everyone else on the road is driving like an idiot.
I watched people skid across roundabouts, slide out across main roads when trying to stop, people trying to turn into roads on the brakes and missing their turning, etc...
I left extra early to make sure I got through Heston before the traffic run started!!
