How far are you willing to travel?

There's a place called the Barley Mow which does a FANTASTIC sunday lunch - it's just outside Wallingford/Abingdon.

Having been a chef for a few years in another life, the idea of cooking on a Sunday brings me out in a shiver smile

Happy to travel for the right place Pete. Used to love a place in Binfield but it closed ages ago and nothings come close since. They did a slow roasted leg of lamb (and huge portions), great starters and desserts with a wine list I could read for days (oh, and the regular waitress used to make me a bloody mary every Sunday as a matter of course when I walked in smile)

SAS Sunday lunch one day?

If you are after a traditional Sunday pub lunch with all the trimmings, I can highly recommend The Queen Victoria, just off the A4 at Hare Hatch. http://www.diningpubs.co.uk/pub_details.asp?id=153...
Quality, quantity and choice of food is top notch at very reasonable prices.
Beers good too wink
Very close to the Bird In Hand at Knowle Hill where we had the 3rd Sunday Meets and the pub also has a biker meet on a Monday evening.. if that's your thing.

Is the Bird in Hand the one that is owned by a french fella.? It was closed last time we tried to go but that was in the summer...

ears sounds like a good idea to try a few, I was hoping to get out for lunch today but failed due to needing to be up at 5am tomorrow and having too much to get done frown

I can highly recommend somewhere that does a perfect roast dinner pizza, and has a fantastic wine list.

The Walter Arms now does a proper Sunday lunch, we should try that too (I've heard lots of good reports)!

I knew it as the Wooden Hut and also as Jamiesons later on. Jamiesons was just fantastic on Sundays.

There's some good suggestions above too, looks like the next few Sundays might be busy....

Was a place called Jamiesons (not sure on the spelling) if you mean on the road leading down to the stag and hounds?

ETA: Beaten too it, I used to know some of the staff when the place was called Jamiesons!

Yep thats the place owned by a couple of ginger beers if i remember correctly. Asbestos was found in the building and trade had gone down, so they flattened it and put a house on the site.

I think I spent a very drunken Valentines in there once. I have vague memories of the food being good.

That gets my vote for this Sunday.

You could offer a full roast dinner folowing a mini hoon somewhere.
You may need a large oven and lots of plates and stuff though
