You can walk near it, the far side of the building which has the lake on a public footpath.
The A320 side is mainly carpark and trees.
ETA:
If you do get a tour, it will be by McLaren Marketing. They talk to a script, including a few lame jokes, but don’t know much – usually either a dolled up tart, or a hair gelled tt (you get the picture….)
Employees used to be able to take family/friends on a tour, one a year. Don’t know if that is still the case when they moved to the new building, as all the different companies were in separate buildings. But now, although they are all together, an employee of Cars, can’t access the part of the building where the F1 team is – unless you where the minority that had a reason too.
When I worked there, I would just get mates in for a phoney meeting, and then take them around myself – because I could. If I had someone in doing work for me, that was a nice enough bloke and was interested, I would always give them a quick tour, and snow them a race car that the guys were stripping down.

Is it possible to get close enough to get pictures at weekends? or is it like fort knox?
I know a couple of people who work there if you want me to ask about a tour?Wow, sounds too good to miss (although I can imagine they're a wee bit busy at the moment!). If possible, please count me in.

So last year chaps
Me and the other half installed and maintained the lifts in there,
crikey that's a few years back now.
But would also be interested in another look around.
Just don't get in the lifts
Ah, those lovely hydraulic ones.... That never where designed for the amount of up and downs (I am sure you have an industry term…. cycles or something like that) per hour that they ended up getting used for, so overheated and broke - well that was what maintenance and facilities told us..Me and the other half installed and maintained the lifts in there,

Just don't get in the lifts
And the cleaners put their floor cleaning buggy thing in the car lifts, which would result in the lift dropping and inch or two...
I never trusted the lifts, and used the stairs - and we quite liked it when someone who was an arse or cocky blokes would get stuck in them

Yes employees can still do friends & family's tours for up to 4 people only, once a year & only during the race season, I know a couple of people who work there as well.Gassing Station | Thames Valley & Surrey | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
