Al, is direct from police? I mean you'll be the first owner since them? Best to look out for panel gaps, suspension wear etc, they get looked after mechanically pretty good but after watching Road Wars etc you can see they do take a hammering. There is a guy who has one that uses it as his 'ring toy, and if it can take that then it might be bit of a hoot.....

Yes I would be the first owner, direct from the disposal sales.

Ring toy was my thinking in the future. Yes its had a hardish life, but any worse than and BMW or hot hatch im going to buy at that money/age? ALso its serviced upto the hilt. Has new dash inside etc. BEing the special spec has LSD and few other tweaks, suspension etc.

They also have a black one in, but its auto.

Not a bad buy then.

Put some blue strobes in the front grille and your away.
Could be used as a the Official Hoon Pace Car.

Do want a refelective yellow jacket to go with it redcard

Sounds like it could be a bit of a laugh being a white one and all. Excellent for scaring the outside lane hogs out of the way! hehe

It would have been looked after regardles of expense. Treat it as a car that has worked hard and is a true barge bargain. Miggys are great cars and the MV6s are very nice. Bear in mind they are sold on without a last service.

Sold on to local auction houses. TVP is Witney. No idea for Hants or other local forces.

Im not sure, the guy is based in poole and picking the cars up tomo. Could well be WMO in oxford, but are the sales a closed affair was my thinking?

I do get that from Diz too about owning ex cop cars ??

The auctions are open to the public so if you want an ex BiB car then great way to get a fresh one. Traffic cars are better driven than the Astras and will have had less prisoners in the back. I know people who have bought ex BiB cars and quite like having a cheap run around. None have had any major issues that I know of.

From mine make sure the engine cooling is in top form, theres an heat exchanger in the middle of the V that is very expensive and a PITA to get fixed, mine went at about 90k.

If this fails you will nees a new DIS pack plus leads, and the Knock sensor usually fails and they basically get steam cleaned as you drive.

Othere than that its a comfy 155mph car, they do eat brakes allot if driven hard, and can warp discs on demand. I did 60k in mine and it was areal trooper.

The out side lane will nearly always be empty for you.

Step away from the 6 series, unless you like burning £50 notes every time you open the door!! Mine looked good but I virtually gave it away as it was a pit!!
