or there is a 2000 Alfa GTV V6 in Burgandy at Hook.

Which would be more fun, i know the clio prob but the alfa does appeal, if its a sorted one.. Think I could offer £1750 for either in this current market?

The Clio is more fun.

The GTV makes a far better sound, is infinitely more sexy and has more character.

I don't know about running costs but I would expect the Clio to be far cheaper and in terms of build both are on the bad side of shoddy.

The Clio looks naff and feels positively naff but drives very well.

I would personally go for the GTV for the looks, engine and pure character.

Clio. Quite fond of the mk1 172 shape actually. Reckon it'll give you less trouble/expense running one as a daily driver than the GTV. Just wait until you chuck it down a good back road too wink

Alfa has noise and looks on its side yes, but I think the Tuscan has that covered already.

Fair 'nuf!

Clio would be my bet then, just for the b road capability alone!

And economy, and fixing costs...

I agree with both Johns.

The Alfa has fantastic Interior, a great engine and sounds gorgeous but the Clio will provide you with good MPG and is alot more capable on the B roads.

I think the above basically says all that's need to be said. You've already got an interesting, beautiful and loud car, so why get another that does the same just not as well. I think the Clio will be much more fun on back roads, where the TVR may be a bit unwieldy and more daunting. Front wheel drive hatches are definitely fun, as I just found out with my Swift offering up the most lairy lift-off oversteer to date on an empty roundabout 10 minutes ago.

I saw the Alfa today, not great too many things to do, needed aircon and alram so thats £1500 there. And your right about interiors etc, doesnt really do it for me, well not when I went there in the Tuscan!

Just been looking at Omega MV6 3.2 on 2003 plate, ex police car, would you say that its worth it? Also its around £1400...

Have made an offer on the clio too, so will see if they come back. Would be better than the omega. The more i read into any car the more faults I find with them all!

Clio = Cheap to repair

Forgot to mention the dif seals go on omega,s especially if high speed use has been seen, which it will have.
Missed a good game yesterday, how was the track today

Yes sorry about the game, would have liked to come. Looked like you got some good seats too!

Yeah the omega is looking less appealing, also the special police ones are a PITA to insure app.

I can take the clio for £1750 now..

Clio 172 is more fun than Omega or Alfa GTV, and will be better than the Tuscan if it snows biggrin

If it was only car I'd take the Alfa over the Clio for sure (badge vanity, noise, character), however married to the Tuscan as a pairing I'd take the Clio as a daily smoker, it will drive well and be different from the Tuscan in every way - also more practical as a hatch, you can chuck the rear seats down and have a small van biggrin
