Following this thread HERE

Vixpy has suggested me cleaning up some cars at SRR one Sunday soon. I won’t be able to offer a full machine polish as id want to spend at least a day with a car to do this but I can offer a wash, basic machine polish and wax for a few cars if people are interested. It would leave the cars protected with wax until spring time and looking very good.

Once I've got some idea of whether people are interested I'll speak to Vixpy to sort out when he is available etc and I'll sort out a price for everyone, if people can list what cars they'll be bringing as well, as an S3 will be a lot less work than a Discovery.

I'll attach some pics below of what will be possible in the time given to your cars.

Each car will have the following done to them;
-Pre Wash
-Wheels Washed
-Bodywork Clay bar'd if required
-Bodywork washed with lambs wool mitt and 2 bucket method
-Tape over rubbers and plastics
-Basic machine polish over bodywork
-Bodywork waxed

Pics, (these are borrowed pictures and not mine)
Before;

Polished;

Beading shot after polish;

However, if any one does want a full detail please contact me so we can talk about what you want and what I offer. I live about 5 mins from a large shopping outlet (Bicester village) so if you wanted to go shopping for the day I can pick-up and drop off whilst the car is left with me for the day, or I can come to you depending on your location. I know its winter time now as well so if people are interested in having it done in the spring summer time then please let me know and I'll make sure I contact you closer to the spring about getting the work done.

Cheers Guys n Gals

Smiler.

I would smile

Unfortunately, my car is still in the garage (engine rebuild frown) but I'd be keen to have it done in the future when I get it back.

Sorry this doesn't help now, but I wanted to register my interest.

Don't read it.... he'll only be trying to convince you that you need to buy his Discovery in order to transport all your car cleaning paraphernalia biggrin

3 cars eek Sounds like you need a private session... smile

Yes, I'd be interested the X3 is the one that needs the work so I guess I'd be paying more than one of these small sporty thingys!

ETA: it's on winter wheels at the mo, I'd bring the summer ones in the boot, is that OK?

coolWOW!cool Lot more interest than I was expecting! Yup I will have to charge as being unemployed I really need the money! and to cover my costs.

Can people list who would want a full detail, and who would want the basic detail (listed in the OP) as I think 3-4 cars would probably be my max to do in a day at SRR with a basic detail, as I think John D has the smallest by quite a way and I want to make sure I do a good job on your cars.

For the basic detail it'll be circa £50-70 (Clio and Astra been £50, X3 been £70) and it'll be mates rates for my favourite forum angel

If people want to book a full detail I’d need the car for a full day and charge £100-150+ any travel expenses if I travel to you. I’m currently trying to sort out a unit to work in locally which will mean I won’t be hindered by bad weather too much over the winter months.

For the basic detail I am looking at using the following products;

Pre Wash - Chemical Guys Maxi Suds
Wheel Wash - Meguiars Wheel Brightener
Wash - Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo
Polish - Dodo Need For Speed or Auto Glym Super Resin Polish Applied by DA Polisher
Sealant (wax) - Chemical Guy Wet Mirror Finish or Collinite 476

Interior wise will depend on cars and how time is going but I shall give them a quick hoover out and wipe down.

I'll start a list (below) and if people can move there names into whichever they're after, and don't worry if its over 4 on basic detail as if there's enough I’ll look into organising to do the rest at another time either at Vixpy’s if he’s willing to let me or at mine (junction 9 M40).

Yup Bring summer wheels and ill put a coat of sealant on them ready for the summer.

Would take a few years even with a clay bar I fear!

Dates depend on Vixpy really as I’m free every Sunday now apart from the Sunday after Christmas, but if people want to have it done at another time then I’m sure I can organise something.
