Just a quick heads up for anyone passing through this area. They are camped out at the top of the hill on the 40 mph road between the two roundabouts by Blue Mountain and the roundabout for Temple Park.

Seeing as not even the speed nazis travel at 40 down there I think this may catch a few out so I thought I'd post it up. smile

They are making that a regular spot for Monday mornings, they have been there for the last 3 weeks in the morning and sit here;

Then move to the 30 mph spot in Winkfield Row in the early afternoon and sit here;

I live right in the middle of those two locations and yet it's the first time I've seen them out and about. I did know that they hang out over by the school though. Apparantly there were complaints from the mothers at the school that people were speeding past when they were dropping off their little darlings. Of those caught 75% of them were mothers dropping their kids off at the school. hehe

The used to hide out at the end of Crickers Lane going on to Forest Road too but I've not seen them there for years now.

It looks as though somebody had lost control at the roundabout at the top, as the railings protecting pedestrians crossing the road had been uprooted and twisted pretty severely at some point yesterday or the evening before. Perhaps they had been helping clear up.

That particular road was the subject of a campaign by a couple of residents on the estate to get some speed calming measures in place. A letter was written to the council and a polite reply came back saying there had been no significant accidents on the road, so they were not going to take any action. Cue letter shoved through everyone's letterboxes from incensed resident! Here's hoping that's the last of it - speedbumps would likely trap my car on the estate.

Definitely out for speeders. It was one of those vans with the camera holes in the back and the side. I don't understand why that little stretch isn't at the national speed limit though. The only road that pulls out on to it has excellent visibility.
