My bolier has gone kaputt. I need a new PCB for a Poterton Supreme 40
Can anyone help ? Or I have to wait till Monday to get one from Adlink.
But on the off chance. I thought I might post up.
Cheers.

Are you sure its the control board.
Many of the common faults are caused by sensors or other items in the control chain.
The majority of modern electrics are pretty reliable.
Fan assisted boilers have diffential pressure switches which are prone to failure.
Another issue is the flame sensing circuit which relies on a good pilot
flame before main gas valve opens.
If the pilot flame is poor often caused by blocked jet it will not allow boiler to go into full operation and trip out.

Just a few thoughts before you shell out on a new PCB

If it is the PCB, do you know what is actually wrong with it? Most of the componants can be replaced/repaired?

As well as Adlink, there's also this guy http://www.cetltd.com/default.asp?let=pcb - he posts on a DIY forum and said a big chunk of his work is Suprima PCBs.

I think BBC Watchdog did a piece on this a few months ago - where the PCBs failed - and it was a known fault which they continued to deny - but did replace FOC.

Let me have a quick look.

They DID do a story on the Potterton Supreme - back in Feb 2007.

Their website is crap - and all their 'archives' only go back to last month.

So I guess Google is your friend.

Sweet nice on Lord K
Cheers chaps its not till you don't have heating you realise weekends can be crap.
Unfortuantly everything on the PCB is all as one so if one piece fails you have to change the whole lot. There is a place in Slough that has one Deffo not cheap. but would rather pay then freeze my tits off.

Phil - Ooopppps - it looks like it's the Potterton Suprima, and not the suprime that has the issues.

Sorry.

Phil, if you've still not got it sorted and need a decent plumber to take a look let me know, we're having our boiler replaced and a few other bits today and the guy actually seems like he has a clue for once!
