I've done this a few times before using this generator: http://www.houghi.org/tomtom/index.php with no problems, was always very easy to use. Yet I'm trying to convert this route:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=Unknow...

and its not having it. Just comes up with an error. I'm baffled as to why confused I've re-done the route a few times, moved the start and finish point a couple of metres as per the instructions.

Can anyone help?

Sorry, I always use a program called Tyre to make my routes, it is excellent.

On another note, I drove that route in reverse up to the Newbury point the other day, and it's awesome. Enjoy it.

Also, on the 4494 there's signs on the next corner after the drama we had on the last hoon, saying a fatal accident occurred. Hope it's no one on here!

We saw that on the day when we were on our way back to the scene - it sent a shiver...

Cheers guys I'll give that tyre thing a go. Still at a loss as to why the other one no longer works, unless it has become corrupted somehow.

It's because Google have changed the format of the URLs and the way the waypoints/destinations are displayed - it no longer has the coordinates so the generator is now rendered about as useful as a chocolate fireguard wink

I had the same problem recently, but I too found Tyre and haven't looked back!

On first impression it doesn't do quite what I want it to do. It plots a waypoint and then just draws a linear line between the 2 points, it doesn't take the road into account. I'll keep fiddling to see if I can get it to do what I want.

However, the effect that I get in Google Maps is exactly what I want...

That is not my experience. I have plotted some intricate TomTom routes by creating waypoints with a click of the mouse.

I was talking specifically about taking a .itn file from the TomTom, into Tyre and loading it into Google Earth. It works fine in Google Maps.

I think I know what you mean, although I was'nt trying to take routes from TT to Google like you.

I noticed that Tyre is not quite as easy to plot routes as Google Maps. Tyre requires Way Points to direct it down specific roads whilst Google Maps only needs a start and end point and you can simply drag the route down specific roads and it converts them into the itn (without setting WPs'). Tyre does'nt do this and just plots the quickest route between WPs' even though you have dragged the route where you want it on the screen. This foxed me to begin with!

yes Its not bad biggrin I wrote it as quick shakedown for my friends newly acquired Clio Cup. We had to check it was working OK wink Drove it early last Sunday with added interest of patchy fog and a herd of deer crossing the road on the B4494! eek

Welcome to borrow it, first half is nicked from Turbofun anyway hehe

Spyker, non-descript 997 Carrera, and something else I can't even remember!

Pretty boring really. Best I've seen recently is black Murcielago and silver 996 GT2.
