Hello mate, I'm actually after a bit of info as to where one might try for a dangle at the weekend, somewhere that doesn't require membership. A friend is over from Oz (via the paralympics) & has just sprung that all he wants to really do is go fishing.

I can get the rod licences sorted & I have the tackle but it's been a while since I've fished other than the sea.

Any tips would be gratefully received.

Neil,
When my daughters were young i used to take them to TriLakes between Sandhurst and Yately.
They don't appear to have a web site, but there are some details here:
http://www.yateleyangling.co.uk/pages.phtml?CAT=5&...

They cater for all levels from novice to expert, and i can buy you a drink if you want to do a recce biggrin

I can thoroughly recommend this place.
There's a tackle shop just up the road too which is useful.
I was there a few weeks ago and did quite well.

There are plently of fish there so the fishing is fairly reliable too.
Its £10.00 per person (for one rod) IIRC.
