Anyone have a bullet cam kit I can hire?
Discussion
Was looking to get one of these fellers myself. Just haven't got around to it

Yep that was similar (might be the same) as the one on the fast films site and what might be the manufacturer for that one which was the other site recommended by other PHers: http://www.b-hague.co.uk/camera_suction_pads_vacuu...
These guys have them for hire:

I do have one, but I'm afraid I can't hire one out as my Dad's company owns it.
It only costs about £350 with a recorder and mount, so if you will use it for more than just this trip it may be worth the investment.

I was amazed at the price as we bought a similar Sanyo thing a couple of years ago and it was closer to £200. They shoot straight to MP4 or similar and onto standard memory cards, so really easy to get footage straight onto PC. Sure quality is not quite up there with a pucker HD camcorder, but if it's for fun stuff/Youtube etc then more than does the job, can watch full screen on my PC with the original footage and looks really pretty good (well with mine at least). Smaller than your average camcorder and at this money you won't have to be precious about it, I nearly bought one to compliment our Sanyo so I could have one inside the car and another one strapped to the front.
Oh and just to add, as they are so small you don't need a big monty sucker thing, I use one of these from Maplin

which does the job just fine.

That's the one I have. It's worked at speeds of up to 125mph with no issues http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=45383

Worked up to 160 so far, but that's with a bullet cam.
Bear in mind bullet cams are used as they are light, strong and don't shake around much because of the weight. I wouldn't use a conventional camera on the side of my car, and definitely not without a tether.
If you're just shooting from the inside then any handycam and a good mount would be pretty good.
